Victory in the Air: The Lunchtime FPV Drone Racing Tournament Recap

The buzz in the hallways wasn’t just the students—it was the high-pitched whine of brushless motors. Over the last nine lunch breaks, our school transformed into a high-stakes aerial racetrack as we hosted our first-ever FPV Drone Racing Tournament.

After nearly 6 weeks of intense heats, tight corners, and spectacular maneuvers, the competition has officially come to a close.

The Undefeated Champion

While the field was packed with talent and quick reflexes, one pilot consistently stayed ahead of the pack. We are excited to announce that Turbokid has emerged as the tournament champion.

In an incredible display of focus and technical skill, Turbokid managed to go undefeated across the entire nine-day event. Navigating an FPV (First Person View) drone through a technical course requires a split-second understanding of physics and spatial awareness, and Turbokid made it look effortless.

To celebrate this massive achievement, Turbokid didn’t just walk away with bragging rights—he headed home with his very own small drone as the grand prize for his first-place finish!

Beyond the Race: Cinematic Mastery

While he certainly has the “need for speed” on the race course, Turbokid’s talents extend far beyond the finish line. When he isn’t dodging gates in the gym, he is producing some of the most professional drone cinematography we’ve seen.

He manages his own YouTube channel, where the focus shifts from racing to artistry. What makes his work stand out isn’t just the flight paths, but his dedication to the “post-flight” craft—he handles all of his own color grading and editing to create stunning, atmospheric footage.

If you want to see the world from a different perspective, we highly recommend heading over to YouTube to support this local creator and see his latest edits.

A big thank you to all the pilots and spectators who made this tournament a highlight of the term! Stay tuned for more Technology and Engineering events coming soon.
