We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of Grade 9 student Gayatri S. at the 2026 Canada-Wide Science Fair in Edmonton. After being selected as one of only 15 students to represent Calgary, Gayatri returned home with an impressive collection of awards and recognition. She earned a Gold Medal in the Intermediate division, placing her among the top 10 Intermediate competitors in Canada. She was also one of only two members of Team Calgary to receive a gold medal, the youngest gold medal recipient from Calgary, and the only Albertan to earn Intermediate gold honours.
In addition to her gold medal, Gayatri received the Youth Can Innovate Award, recognizing exceptional scientific advancement in her field of study. Competing in the Intermediate Agriculture category, she also earned a Challenge Award, awarded to the top project in that category. These remarkable achievements reflect Gayatri’s dedication, curiosity, and hard work. Congratulations, Gayatri! We are incredibly proud of your success and the way you represented our school, Calgary, and Alberta on the national stage.
