Student in our SW Junior High 8/9 Robotics options course are tackling their final challenge for the term: Operation Titan. Students have been divided into two teams to compete for their respective space agencies to operate a VEX V5 rover to complete three tasks on Saturn’s Moon Titan.

Students navigate their Clawbot robot to deliver a sensor, retrieve a sample, and finally plant their country’s flag on the surface of the moon. The twist is that they must operate their rover using a video feed rather than having direct line of sight. Students login to the video feed on their laptops, or use the feed in our control room (the Hive) in order to see and operate their robots.
