On Wednesday April 24, the STEMIA Junior High School Chess club hosted the STEMIA Invitational Chess Tournament at the high school. 32 competitors from Calgary’s top school teams, including Westmount Charter, Renert, Calgary French International, Edison, and STEMIA, competed through four rounds of play. This student-organized event was an unqualified success that showcased our future-ready leaders and state-of-the art facilities to Calgary students and parents.

Sincerest thanks go to STEMIA parents Rebecca Ostrikoff, Desirée James, and Golden Bhatia for their work on the parent organizing committee. Thank you to Coach Ken Hoffman for all the time he devotes to our Chess program!
