Our grade 7 students have been busy coding and building virtual reality experiences using DelightEx. Working with this software, they tackled two unique projects.

The first project challenged students to design a Rube Goldberg machine that demonstrated their understanding of loops, conditionals, variables, and functions. Their machines needed to include at least ten distinct elements and integrate physics concepts to enhance the chain reaction. Students incorporated collisions, drops, movement, and other creative details to bring their devices to life.

For the second project, students created an interactive virtual reality scene. Their assignment was to:

Create a single scene in DelightEx that tells a cohesive story, is interactive for the user, and includes the required coding elements.Projects will be evaluated on completeness, creativity, code organization, loops, conditional statements, functions, and variables.

Students shared their finished projects through the DelightEx app on mobile devices, and at school they were able to test and troubleshoot their work using our Meta Quest 3 headsets.
