We’re excited to announce that the SW Junior HIgh Archery Club is back for another great year — and it’s bigger than ever! This year, the club is open to all southwest junior high students in Grades 7–9, giving even more students the chance to learn, practice, and enjoy this lifelong sport.

With guidance from Mr. Celis and Mr. Butler, archers of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced competitors, will continue to develop their accuracy, precision, focus, and overall technique each week. The teachers are committed to helping every student grow individually and become the best archer they can be.

Building on last year’s success, our school will again participate in at least two virtual competitions against STEM Collegiate in Edmonton. Mr. Celis and Mr. Butler are also continuously looking for additional competitive tournaments to test our archers against other schools and students in the province.

Thanks to the continued support of NASP, the Alberta Hunter Education Instructors’ Association (AHEIA), and our school community, our students have access to high-quality equipment and safe, structured instruction. Archery remains a fantastic way to develop skills that extend far beyond the archery range, such as concentration, focus, attention, and confidence.

We’re looking forward to another exciting season of learning, improvement, and fun. Whether you’re picking up a bow for the first time or fine-tuning your aim for competition, the Archery Club has a place for you!
