Starting this year, our Robotics options courses will transition from the VEX IQ system to the more advanced VEX V5 platform.
This new system offers greater sophistication, speed, and flexibility, giving students even more opportunities to design, build, and program robots that tackle the annual VEX challenge; this year Push Back. Along with these upgraded kits, we’ve also added a huge new robotics table where students can test, refine, and iterate on their creations throughout the term.
Looking ahead, our Robotics program will begin entering local competitions starting in the 2026 school year. This is an great opportunity for students to collaborate, problem-solve, and showcase their skills on a bigger stage, while gaining the skills they’ll be able to use with our Sparkans Robotics Teams at the high school.
We can’t wait to see the innovative robots our students will create with these new tools — and we look forward to cheering them on as they take our Robotics program to the next level!
