Beginning this spring Mr. Celis and Mr. Butler are running a grade 9 Archery Club in our school gym on Friday mornings. Thanks to the generous support of the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP), our junior high has acquired the necessary equipment to make this initiative possible.  We also had logistical and communication support from the Alberta Hunter Education Instructors’ Association (AHEIA) as our main contact in Alberta who helped us work closely with NASP and create a safe, fun experiential club for our students.

The grade 9 students work with the teachers to learn about safety and skills as they practice their archery. This is a lifetime leisure activity that we hope students continue to enjoy beyond school. We look forward to seeing this club improve and grow, as well as seeing these skills introduced in our grade 9 physical education program in the coming school year.
