Season 1: Smash Brothers
Our junior high Esports league started this fall with 49 eager students participating in a Smash Brothers tournament on Nintendo. Check out our previous post here: https://stemiajournal.ca/2024/01/10/stemia-esports-league-ignites/ to see each of the team logos and names.
Each lunch hour, students from the 8 different teams in the league squared off to ultimately determine the champion. After 128 matches, Fukuharu from team Leviathan was crowned champion.
Coming Soon Season 2: Minecraft Bedwars
Our 8 teams will be competing in Minecraft Bedwars beginning in March, with matches taking place at lunch in the Orchard. Come by to cheer on your favorite team or to watch some of the action. Keep an eye on our STEMIA Journal YouTube Channel as well for live and recorded matches. We now have an Esports playlist to archive previous matches as well.
Minecraft Bedwars is a popular multiplayer minigame where players compete in teams to protect their beds while simultaneously trying to destroy the beds of other teams. The ultimate goal is to be the last team standing. Players gather resources, build defenses, and strategize to outlast their opponents. It’s a fast-paced and exciting game mode that requires teamwork, coordination, and quick thinking.
