“Design and Fabrication” is centered around the principles of design thinking and hands-on creation. This class empowers students to tackle real-world challenges by employing the STEMIA Design Thinking Process, and equips them with fundamental tool safety and usage skills to bring their ideas to life through prototypes and finished showcase projects.
An integral part of the curriculum involves teaching basic tool safety and usage. Students will gain proficiency in using a variety of fabrication tools and equipment, such as hand tools, and power tools while emphasizing safety protocols and best practices.
Students are finishing up their Robot Figure project to showcase their safety and skills on the different hand and power tools in the Maker Space. Once we are finished this project, they will embark on the final project for the term CO2 Cars.
