After learning all about the periodic table, chemical and physical properties of elements and compounds, and atomic structure, our Grade 9 students were tasked with creating an elemental superhero. Using their knowledge of one specific element, they were tasked with creating a superhero or villain that encompassed its elements properties and its location on the periodic table. They were expected to apply their knowledge creatively and with reasoning. Furthermore, they were expected to explain what other superhero or element their creation would work with based on ionic compounds and ions formed. See some great creations below!
