By our Grade 8 Humanities Team: Anna Maria Donaldson, Rebecca Ochitwa, Evan Acheson, and Stephen Manuel-Jones.

For the past 2 school years, our grade 8 team has been teaching the grade 8 social studies Japan unit through a sophisticated game where teams of students compete to conquer or survive. The game was created by The Creativity Collective in Calgary, Alberta.

Each week the teams of students meet to strategize their moves on the map. They earn Koku, the in game currency, by completing some of the 41 quests posted in the room. Koku can also be earned through game play by purchasing upgrades for their region.
