November 09, 2022 saw our second annual Remembrance Day presentation at STEM Innovation Academy. The event was MC’ed by Spencer, a grade 9 student and broadcasting enthusist from the newspaper club. Our own Finn B. from grade 8 played the moving pieces The Last Post and Reveille on his violin. Our presentation ended with a slidedeck sharing over 60 service members from around the world that are connected to our STEM IA learning community.

- 11:00- Welcome to our 2022 Remembrance Day presentation. This morning’s program will begin with a land acknowledgement, followed by O’Canada where we ask that you stand for the anthem.

“I’d like to acknowledge that we are on Treaty 7 territory, the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Nations, including Siksika (Sick-sick-ah), Piikani (Pee-can-ee), and Kainai (Kigh-a-nigh), the Tsuut’ina (Soot- ina **a bit of a stop after the t), Nation and Stoney Nakoda First Nations. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.”

Thank you Finn. We ask that you take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by generations of Canadians and service members around the world, both past and present. Let us remember them for their courage and duty in service.
Our school is fortuntate to be connected to many brave service members, both past and present, from Canada and from around the world. Please take a moment to reflect on their sacrifices, and the sacrifices of so many others, as you watch the following presentation sharing just some of those connected to our school community.
