Grade 7 students worked collaboratively in the science lab to dissect owl pellets to explore the interactions that happen in our ecosystem. Students identified elements of their owl’s diet using dissection tools.

Driving questions for the inquiry included: what is the difference between pellet collected in winter or summer? What can the composition of the pellet tell us about the owl? What is another experiement we could try to determine whether different owls have different diets?
